- WHAT DOES "EXPRESS" OIL CHANGE MEAN? -
First things first: In reality, doing a fluid change TOO quickly can be a
disservice to your customers. A five minute oil change will get you out the door
quickly but the whole idea of an oil change is to get ALL (or at least most) of the
used oil outta there! So suffice it to say that we will change your oil quickly but
not TOO quickly!
As part of our fluid change process, we analyze a sample of the oil that's currently
in your motorcycle. Since you probably rode a few miles to get here, the oil should
be hot and drain fairly quickly. But it's very important to get as much of the sediment
and other creepy stuff out of there as we can. We'll show you (using thin layer
chromography technology) what your old oil looked like as well as what fresh oil looks
like. The differences are often startling, even in very well maintained bikes. We'll
also show you a sample of what the new oil we just installed looks like after
circulating in your motor for a minute or two.
People are often surprised how contaminated their brand new, just replaced oil is
after we do this!
The reason?: Many motorcycle designs make it impossible to remove every last drop of
old oil, and in reality, doing so is neither realistic nor wise. We know of people who
run the motor for several seconds AFTER all the oil has been drained out, ostensibly to
squeeze out those "last few drops". This is an incredibly BAD idea -- be assured that
we do not do this!
If you're changing oil religiously every 2,500 - 3,000 miles, your oil quality is
probably going to look pretty good. But if you are running extended drain intervals
and/or if your old shop isn't draining out as much of the old oil as possible, you
may be in for a surprise. In this case, you're likely to see an immediate contamination
of the new oil before you are even down the road!
Not that we are trying to drum up business, but you may find the need to come back 24
hours after we change your oil to have it changed again! Not because there is anything
wrong with our oil change service, mind you -- the problem is that pretty much no one
else checks the quality of your new oil after doing an oil change. This is sort of like
taking a bath in a tub that was only partially drained after the fellow who used it
before you got out. EWWWWW!
We are motorcycle lubrication experts. Motorcycle lubrication services is all we do.
So it stands to reason that we are going to be a lot more particular about making
sure that your oil is clean and doing the best possible job for you. Unlike other
shops and Dealerships, oil changes aren't just a sideline for us. Fluid changes and
oil analysis is all we do and we are very good at it.
It's a little silly, in our opinion, to skimp on oil quality when we are talking
about protecting your $20,000+ motorcycle that's probably more a part of your family
than your Mother-in-Law (all due respect to those truly great M.I.L's out there)!
You no longer have to pay well over $100 bucks for an oil change
and blow half a day waiting for the work to be done!!!!!
We also do a fairly comprehensive oil analysis, while you wait, at no extra charge.
If you need something more in-depth, we can send it off to the lab for a nominal fee.
PRICES: OIL/FILTER CHANGE AND BASIC FLUID ANALYSIS
59.95!

Most Harley-Davidsons: $69.95, using conventional oil. $79.95 using our very high quality
"House" synthetic
$99.95 for Harley-Davidson motor and transmission fluid changes
Small motorcycles (less than 3 qts): The retail cost of oil and a filter (if needed)
plus $20
- THE SMALL PRINT -
The above prices apply to most motorcycles. If you have a Yamaha V-star or something
else that requires major surgery to perform an oil change (you know who you are), our
shop rate is $60/Hr in 15 minute increments. If we have to pull your exhaust or whatever
to get the oil filter out, there will be an up-charge for the additional labor (and parts,
if needed) to do this extra service work. We will be very fair with you in our pricing.
But fairness flows both ways. We expect customers who know they own a poorly designed
(i.e. designed to discourage D.I.Y. maintenance) motorcycles to be fair with us as well.
We stock most popular, high quality lubricants. There may be a small up-charge for using
your brand choice instead of our very good "House" brand. Note that prices may vary
slightly based on your particular bike but these are not "teaser" or "bait and switch"
prices....
If you need "something special", a drain plug washer or whatever, you'll still be out
the door with a smile for something very close to these advertised prices.
If you're not totally happy, you won't come back and you won't recommend us to your
friends.
"Doing The Right Thing" is good for you and it's good for us!
We will change your old oil FAST and for a lot less dough than you'd pay most anywhere
else!
All of our lubricants meet and usually far exceed Manufacturer's recommendations.
We will also change rear gear oil, primary oil and most any other lubricant you have
in your motorcycle (FAST!), at VERY competitive prices!
If you are running extended drain interval oils or just want to know the condition of
the oil that's currently in your bike, drop by for a free, no obligation analysis!
